Jess & Erin Brillon

Totem Design House is a family collaboration between brother and sister creative team Jesse & Erin Brillon. The Brillons are of Haida and Cree ancestry and have grown up in deep appreciation of their rich cultural heritage.

Raised on the Northwest Coast of BC

The two were raised on the Pacific Ocean in a commercial fishing family. Being grounded in nature and in their culture, the two have been inspired and influenced by the art of their people.ย Jesse, having been taught by the great carvers such as Bill Reid and Don Yeomans in his teen years, has been carving museum quality jewelry for the last decade.ย

Jesse provides the bold Haida motif whileย Erin, develops the design and color combinations to enhance the striking Haida totem animal designs in fresh new ways.ย

Andy Everson

In 2015, Andy Everson, acclaimed Northwest Coast artist joined forces with Erin, all aspects of their lives melded personally, professionally and culturally.

Andy Everson Collection

Totem Design House produces an exclusive line of his works in the โ€œAndy Everson Collectionโ€. This collection ranges from traditional motif on hemp pillows to Andyโ€™s uber popular melding of traditional art with pop culture.ย

The Studio

The fruition of this creative connection is the expansion into a brand new studio. Brillon designed every square inch of the space from the ground up, from the working studio and showroomโ€”to their living space above the waterfront studio on Comox Avenue on Kโ€™omoks First Nation, opening in December 2019. The studio is a 100% native owned and operated venture, which also has a focus on giving back.ย

Our values

Totem Design House is an endeavour cultivated on Indigenous values. Based on four pillars, first being kind to the earth. TDH focuses on creating products that utilize eco-friendly materials as often as possible.

Secondly, creating a local economy and working with local artists and makers - TDH is not going overseas to mass produce goods. Thirdly, we believe that Indigenous hand made products are part of our history, and one we want to continue- even while utilizing modern technology.

We are hands on with production with our products (occasionally using "ready made" garments such as hoodies). Finally, we give back. Totem Design House is committed to giving back to Indigenous youth programs and fundraising efforts for Indigenous communities.

Totem Design House motifs are printed by hand at their studio on Kโ€™omoks First Nation.
